The New....or Maybe not so New

Miranda is so easy to please most of the time. Here, she's getting ready to go for a ride and it was a little windy out, so we put her sweater on with the hood. She seemed to enjoy it.

This week she has really been working on holding her head up by herself and keeping it real steady. She's trying to pull up quiet frequently. She still needs the couch for back up support, but she really enjoys being up like a big girl. Time flys.

Here's Miranda in a couple of her dresses. I have fun dressing her up like a little baby doll. I may as well for as long as she will let me. Somehow I don't think it will be long before she wants to pick out her own things to wear. She's such a little doll all dressed up.

Two of Miranda's favorate things at this time are the changing table and her ocean play gym. She really enjoys herself at both of these places. We love to see her smile.

Miranda looks like she's ready to talk any minute. I know it'll be a while still before she says anything understandable, but she has a look that just makes ya think she's ready for a good conversation. We'll be ready when she is, that's for sure.

She's finally able to spend some time in her strollers. She really seems to enjoy being strolled around and get to see all the new sights. She tried on her cousin Morgan's sunglasses for a bit. She liked them for a few minutes then decided that everything pink wasn't what she wanted. So we just enjoyed the rest of the stroller ride sunglass free.

I love this picture of her. She has such a pretty, happy smile. Here she was enjoying some tummy time on her boppy. Tummy time isn't one of her favorate things, so for her to be this happy during it is a good thing.

She's spending more and more time in an upright position. She likes to be up rather than lying down these days. She's just progressing right along.

Ok, we had to have a little fun with our little girl. In these pics, she's sporting a diaper on both ends. She seemed to enjoy it better than she does any other hat.

Miranda is finally realizing that she's got her own fingers and toes. She loves to spend time looking at them and trying to figure out where they came from. She loves to point. In the first pic, she got caught in a yawn. But she looks like she's pointing at someone and crying about it....or screaming..."Ahhh...it's coming" haha

Well, it's been a while since I've been able to post any new pics, so I've got some catching up to do. Miranda doesn't usually like hats on, but she did really well tolerating the bonnett. I guess her mamaw just caught her in the right mood.

Well here's our little sunshine all tuckered out after a day of play. She didn't care that she wasn't wrapped all up in a blanket or even covered up. She was out. That little wedge in her bed has really been a help as far as her staying down in her bassinet. Before, she wouldn't stay in there at night for anything. So we went and got her this memory foam wedge that has an incline to it and adjustable sides so she can use it for a while longer. She will actually stay in her own little bed for about 4 hours at a time during the night. That's great compared to what she was doing. For the most part, she will stay up most of the day and then wind down about 7 or 8. So as long as her tummy doesn't hurt, the nights have definately improved.

Miranda has finally noticed herself in the mirror. She will smile briefly, jabber something to herself and then the smile goes away. She may try this same tactic again and when nothing else comes from the baby in the mirror, she cries. I wonder what goes through her little mind. I'll be glad when she realizes it's her and it's OK if the baby doesn't talk back to her. She's such a little sweetie. Why would anyone not want to talk to her..including the baby in the mirror.

Ok, a family portrait was due. So this was as good as I could do with my camera. We've got to get the pictures as we can. It's not easy to get all three of us in the same picture, so we can do it like this. Usually, if one of us is holding Miranda, the other is up running doing things, like washing bottles, fixing formula, filling bottles, oh..you get the picture. She's growing up on us every day so we enjoy holding her while she lets us.

Well, we fostered some cows throughout the winter for a friend in Texas. There was a huge hay shortage again last year and we were wanting to try out the cow side of things anyhow, so we took 5 of them in for the winter. They did not go hungry out in the pasture. Matter of fact, they kept it up pretty good. They eat what the horses turn their noses up at, so it's going to help us out on our first mowing. Anyhow, they all had to go back home this past week. The grass is waking up and he's got room for them now. We hated to see them go. It was fun. But he may bring some more back again for us to keep. Maybe this time Miranda will be old enough to enjoy them some.

Miranda really enjoys being in an upright sitting position these days. I think she has decided that she's not a "baby" anymore and is only happy when she's upright like the rest of us. She only likes to be held in a cradle position when she's wanting to cuddle. The rest of the time, no way and she lets ya know it too. It doesn't seem like it will be long and she'll be able to sit up all by herself.

Here's Miranda getting some Tummy Time. She is very determined to get that little head up and look around. She didn't like it too much at first, but with her mamaw spending time with her, she's really getting it down. Each day she's able to spend a little more time on her stomach without fussing. This is not her favorate position, so to get some pictures of her not frowing was a plus. Go lil girl.
